HEALTHY HARD DRIVE

A "healthy" hard drive means that your data will copy via the Windows "command prompt" without halting or locking up, incomplete transfers or other abnormalities that prevent a normal transfer. This generally means that the hard drive is not seriously damaged due to logical or physical failure.

Palisades Computer Repair can recover data from drives with certain logical failure issues such as bad sectors, logical corruption, failed master boot record, failed partition table or master file table, even when Windows can't access the drive.

Palisades Computer Repair does not perform data recovery from drives with physical damage (mechanical or electrical) or other damage such as firmware module corruption that won't allow the drive to "initialize" or appear in the computer's BIOS. If recovering your data is critical there are specialized forensics labs that can recover your data from such physical damage, although they are usually very expensive.
